Workshop: Voices of Hong Kong - The New Sensitive 香港的聲音 – 新敏感詞
Date: 21 September 2019
Hong Kong Studies Programme, School of Modern Languages and Cultures HKU has the pleasure of inviting you to the Workshop:

Voices of Hong Kong - The New Sensitive

The raging tempest that is ravaging Hong Kong has woken the long dormant multitude who now compete to articulate their burgeoning, multiple consciousness-es, their conflicting conceptions of home and place, standing up to a world that had long denied them a voice. The disenfranchised multitude are being increasingly and systematically disempowered from any visions of the city’s future. If inheritance is crucial to the cultural hybridity and vibrancy of a city, at this present point of history, there is nothing more urgent than amplifying the cacophony/symphony of voices of Hong Kong to the world.

With the aim to gather undergraduate and postgraduate students and emerging and seasoned scholars alike, to exchange thoughts on controversial issues and sensitive keywords, a one-day bilingual workshop entitled VOICES OF HONG KONG - THE NEW SENSITIVE will be held with the following details:

10am - 5pm
