Advertisement: Assistant IT Officer (at the rank of IT Technician) in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures

Applications are invited for the following post:

Assistant IT Officer (at the rank of IT Technician) in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures (Ref.: 497202) (to commence on August 19, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related disciplines, good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese and the ability to work independently with tight timeframe.  Preferably with 3 years’ proven work experience in web applications including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, MySQL/SQL, etc. They should process knowledge of computer virtualization, networking, and maintenance and troubleshooting of Windows, Mac and Linux platforms. They should have knowledge and experience with multi-media systems development and implementation audio visual production works and presentation equipment. The appointee will be responsible for supporting for the implementation and maintaining of IT systems, servers, AV equipment and other platforms. The appointee will also provide daily proficiency in PC desktop applications, general IT, AV support and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor, and communicate with the ITS, especially on the support of the ISDM project.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
