Spanish Programme, School of Modern Languages and Cultures HKU has the pleasure of inviting you to the film screening:

Crossing borders: the many faces of the struggle for a better life in the Iberian American World (film series)

Mei Fung, a short film by Dayana Gauthier 
Screening and Discussion with the Director via Skype from Venezuela

Moderator: Mercedes Vázquez

The dreams of a second-generation Chinese man growing up in Venezuela and the conflict between his love of Mexican music, his identity as a young Venezuelan man, and his sense of duty towards his traditional Chinese father. A film in Cantonese and Spanish that casts an original light on cultural hybridity and the contribution of the Chinese towards a contemporary Latin American society.
