To: All HKU full-time full-degree students, preferably Year 2 or above with high proficiency of spoken and written Korean,
The mission of HKETO (Tokyo) is to promote closer economic and trade ties, understanding and cooperation, as well as cultural and tourism exchange between Hong Kong and Japan. Apart from organising promotional and cultural activities, HKETO (Tokyo) also facilitates senior level visits of individuals and delegations between the two places, maintains close contact with the Japanese media, providing them with information about the latest developments in Hong Kong etc.
Job Specification (may subject to the final assignment by HKETO, Tokyo)
Responsibilities: • Help in policy research; • Organization of events; and • Administrative support in Korean and English.
Requirements: • Proficient in written and spoken Korean (native level) and English a must; • Acceptable standard in Japanese preferred; • Preferably studying in journalism or marketing or related discipline; • Good knowledge in word, excel and other common office software; and • Good team worker with a cheerful and helpful personality.
Internship Period The internship lasts for about 4 - 6 weeks from June to August. Exact dates are to be determined by HKETO, Tokyo according to the availability of selected students.
Working Hours 9:30 - 18:30, Monday to Friday
Stipend / Allowance JPY10,000 per working day
Notes The internship is open to full-time full-degree students from The University of Hong Kong, who is aged 18 when they submit the application.
Students are recommended to research on the visa application matters and eligibility in relation to your passport and the work location before applying to the internship.
This internship is a self-financed programme. There is no sponsorship from CEDARS. Successful interns should be ready for a 4-6 weeks internship in Tokyo. Interns are responsible for their own arrangement during their stay in Tokyo, including but not limited to air tickets, transportation, accommodation, insurance, daily expenses etc. Interns are advised to purchase insurance against their personal injury and other possible risk during their tenure in Tokyo.
Students are reminded to consider carefully your study plan, the job nature, the organization culture, the accommodation arrangement, availability for the whole internship and financial situation etc.
Screening Interview by CEDARS CEDARS will conduct screening interview with shortlisted students before mid-March. Only students who pass CEDARS’ screening interview will be nominated to HKETO, Tokyo, for further consideration.
