Theatre Ronin – ‘Sculpting the CITY’‘When Theatre and Literature Integrate’ Sharing Session

Taking two local literary works, Chan Koon-chung’s Hong Kong Trilogy and Dung Kai-cheung’s Androgyny, as its point of departure, the two-year project attempts to explore the here-and-now of Hong Kong through texts of the past and will close by a presentation of the city’s future in the theatre. The project began in 2014, and is comprised of various activities that include public talks, online collection campaigns, guided appreciation, dialogue with the authors and stage performance.

The sharing session takes Theatre Ronin’s adaptations of Chan Koon-chung’s Hong Kong Trilogy and Dung Kai-cheung’s Androgyny in the past two years as a point of departure. Veteran practitioners from the theatre and literary fields are invited to share their views, discovering the fascination of the integration. In addition, the sharing session explores the relationships and significance such integration has brought to art practitioners and the public, as well as the theatre and the society. The entire project will be concluded with this ‘When Theatre and Literature Integrate’ Sharing Session.
