Advertisement: Teaching Assistant in the Common Core Curriculum (Global Issues), School of Modern Languages and Cultures

Applications are invited for the following post:

Teaching Assistant in the Common Core Curriculum (Global Issues), School of Modern Languages and Cultures (Ref.: 201600985) (to commence from September 1, 2016 to 30 May 2017, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a good undergraduate and postgraduate degree (a Master’s degree or Ph.D. candidate with “All but dissertation” (ABD) status would be an advantage) in one of the following disciplines: International Relations / Political Science / Economics / Law / Area Studies or a related Social Science / Humanities discipline.  They should have an excellent command of spoken and written English with good presentation, interpersonal and IT skills.  They should also be self-motivated and able to work under pressure; and have the ability to work independently and responsibly within a team.   The appointee will be responsible for course organization, teaching of tutorial groups, and marking assignments.  He/She will contribute to teaching in the following interdisciplinary Common Core Curriculum courses for the academic year 2016/17: CCGL9004 ‘Governance and Democracy in the Age of Globalization’ and CCGL9047 ‘Power, Leadership, and Legitimacy in a Global World’.
