Advertisement: Temporary Assistant Professor in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures (Japanese Studies)

Applications are invited for appointment as temporary Assistant Professor in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures (Japanese Studies), to commence from September 1, 2016 for a period of 9 months.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Japanese Studies or related field. Experience in teaching will be an advantage but fresh doctoral degree graduates are also welcome to apply. They should have a record of research and publication commensurate with the career stage; good interpersonal skills; and the ability to work independently and responsibly and with a team. 

The appointee must contribute to the teaching of four Japanese Studies credit-bearing content courses in any of the following areas: popular culture, business, literature or Sino-Japanese relations. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
