Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures (China Studies), to commence on September 1, 2014 or as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and funding.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree, and have undertaken original research that has contributed to the body of knowledge in a relevant field related to China studies.  The candidate should have a record of research and publication commensurate with the career stage; possess an excellent command of policy analysis skills; good interpersonal and IT skills; and the ability to work independently and responsibly and with a team.

The appointee must contribute to the teaching of the following common core courses: (1) CCCH9006 The Modernization of China in the East Asian Context and (2) CCGL9027 Criminal Organizations, Clandestine Globalization and the Illicit World Political Economy.  Information about the School can be obtained at http://www.smlc.hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
