The Hong Kong I Love

Lin Xi, Hong Kong’s leading lyricist, is almost synonymous with Cantopop lyrics. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Hong Kong in 1984. Before becoming a full-time writer, he was a teaching assistant, newspaper editor, and creative director/manager/consultant for various media. A prolific lyricist, he has won many awards including Radio Television Hong Kong’s “Golden Needle Award” in 2008 and the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong “CASH Hall of Fame Award” in 2012. Lin Xi will evoke Hong Kong through its culture, lyrics and urban characteristics.

Launched in 2012, Hong Kong Studies is the first interdisciplinary programme in the world to take this fascinating city as its subject and explores Hong Kong through its culture, history and society.

The talk will be conducted in Cantonese.

Please registration at Priority will be giving to Hong Kong Studies students.


Admission will begin at 4:30pm.
For those who have registered, please bring along your confirmation email and arrive at least 30 minutes before the event begins. You might not enter when the venue is full if you are late.
Waiting area will be opened to the audience on the waiting list. If there are any seats available, we will let the audience on the waiting list to enter.
