From the U.S. to Asia: Localizing American Animation for Asian Markets

About the Speaker:
Sanoop Luke is Associate Director of Business Development for Turner Broadcasting in Hong Kong. He is responsible for managing the commercial development of original Kids/Animation content - TV series, movies, and shorts - produced in Asia-Pacific for local and global audiences. Sanoop started his career with NBC Universal in New York. He holds a BA in Economics from Emory University.
 
About the talk:
Turner Broadcasting owns and operates some of the leading news, entertainment, and animation TV networks in the world, including Cartoon Network, CNN, and TCM. This session will highlight some of Turner's Asia-based content initiatives, focusing specifically on the Kids/Animation genre. The session provides a case study on how an American/Western media company has successfully adapted to local Asian markets (India and Japan).
