Thai Lantern Festival

The School of Modern Languages and Cultures cordially invite you to the following event:

'Loy Krathong' Thai Lantern Festival

Date: 11 November 2011
Time: 12pm - 8pm
Venue: Global Lounge

'Loy' means to float and "Krathong" are the traditional banana leaf boats, decorated with flowers and candles that are released into rivers and waterways to show respect to the goddess of the waters.

The School of Modern Languages and Cultures' Thai Lantern Festival will include:

12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Krathong Workshop
Thai Costume Workshop

5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Thai Dance Performance
Thai Food Tasting
Krathong Contest
Krathong Floating

The Thai Lantern Festival is co-organized by Royal Thai Consulate-General, Hong Kong and Global Lounge.
