'漢語精神'與'中國思維'
方維規教授

歐洲人在明末清初對漢語的最初印象,是後來人考察漢語的起點,一些觀點甚至延續了幾個世紀,比如:漢語簡略生動,但是語焉不詳;又如:漢字豐富多彩卻資源不足。之後,洪堡從其語言哲學理論出發,追究“漢語精神”亦即漢語與思辨的關係,認為漢語不追求語法上的精確概念。他的價值判斷的天秤明顯傾向於西方語言的精確性和邏輯性。洪堡的開創性思考無疑具有里程碑的意義,也是後來的研究者無法繞過的前賢學說。洪堡之後的一個典型的西方觀點是,漢語因為漢字結構而不太適合於抽象思維,更有利於直觀的形象思維。中國思維較多地帶有審美和倫理色彩,缺乏的是理論性和思辨性,漢語特性使哲學思考充滿模糊性。進入20世紀之後,葛蘭言、佛爾克、馬古利對漢語同“中國思維”的關係的論說具有代表性;他們的觀點表明,在如何評判漢語精神的問題上,仍舊存在見仁見智的現象。所謂歐化文法的精確性和邏輯性,在20世紀的中國得到不少新文化、新文體倡導者的認同。
 
作者簡介: 方維規,北京師範大學文學院教授,博士生導師,文藝學研究中心專職研究員。1986年去德國,獲博士學位和德國教授學位,2006年回國。主要從事中西比較詩學、歷史語義學、文學社會學研究。德文專著四部,中文專著和編著各一部,譯著四種,論文80餘篇(以外文為主)。

About the Speaker :
Weigui FANG, Professor at the School of Chinese Language and Literature, Beijing Normal University. Obtained a Ph.D. degree in Comparative Literature at the Technical University of Aachen (Germany) in 1992. After completing his post-doc thesis in 1992-1996 at the Institute of Chinese Studies of Trier University, he worked between 1996 and 2000 as research fellow at the Dept. of East Asian Studies in Goettingen. In 2002, he successfully completed the German ‘Habilitation’ procedure at the Dept. of Middle Eastern and Far Eastern Languages and Cultures of Erlangen University. Since 2002, he is an associate professor at Erlangen University; since 2006: Professor at the School of Chinese Language and Literature, Beijing Normal University; research fellow in the Centre of Literary Theory. Main emphasis of his teaching and research: Comparative Literature; modern Chinese culture and literature; historical semantics; Sociology of Literature.
 
The talk will be conducted in Mandarin.
