Performance: Tuna de Melilla

Date: 11 October 2010

School of Modern Languages and Cultures, HKU in association with Consulate General of Spain in Hong Kong and Global Lounge HKU are pleased to present a performance by the:

TUNA DE MELILLA

Date: October 11, 2010 (Monday)
Time: 12:45 - 1:45 pm
Venue: Global Lounge, G/F, Fong Shu Chuen Amenities Centre

The members of the Tuna de Melilla continue the long and fine tradition of the 'sopistas': young men who, short of money while studying at the university, would sing and play the guitar for passersby in exchange for food and shelter. Later on, the 'tunos' would use their singing skills to woo the ladies in the city, a tradition for which they are well known all over Spain.

Admission is free. All are welcome.
