Hong Kong English-German poetry: A celebration

The English Centre and the School of Modern Languages and Cultures of the University of Hong Kong are presenting a bilingual poetry reading in English and German with a cocktail reception to mark the publication of an English-German anthology of Hong Kong poems by Stauffenburg Verlag in Germany ( http://www.stauffenburg.de/german/html/fs/fs_24990540.htm).

The editors of the volume are two professors in Germany (Klaus Stierstorfer from the University of Muenster and Monika Gomille from the University of Dusseldorf) and Louise Ho who recently retired from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Mr. Helmut Rausch, Deputy Consul from the German Consulate General in Hong Kong, is the Guest of Honour at this celebration not only of poetry but, even more, of friendship and cultural exchange between Germany and Hong Kong.

The event will be held on 9 February 2007 (Friday) from 6.00 pm to 8.30 pm in the Eliot Room, 14th floor, K K Leung Building, The University of Hong Kong, Pokfulam Road, Hong Kong.

Further information can be obtained from Dr. Agnes Lam (email: agneslam@hkucc.hku.hk; tel.: 2859 2044). Attendance is by invitation only.
