Languages Funfair

Date: 30 May 2009

As part of its initiative to reach out to local secondary school students, our school is sponsoring a one-day carnival, “Languages Funfair”, at the Jockey Club Eduyoung College in Tin Shui Wai on Saturday, May 30, 2009.

This event is organized with the support of the University’s Academic Liaison Office and will showcase several of the School’s language and culture programmes, including French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Thai and American Studies. In addition to giving out information on the School’s undergraduate degree programmes and setting up themed game booths, we will also be holding a series of cultural performances and food tastings throughout the day.

The aim of the carnival is to provide secondary school students from all over the northwestern part of the New Territories with an opportunity to experience other languages and cultures first hand, to give them the desire to find out more about them and maybe even study them in the future.

We would like to invite you to attend the carnival’s official Opening Ceremony which will take place at 10:30 am. The carnival itself will run from 11am to 4 pm. We have arrnaged a shuttle bus going to the venue from HKU campus on the day (Depart at 8:45am), please contact me if you want to take the shuttle bus with us.

Should you require more detailed information, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I very much hope that you will be able to join us.
