As part of its ongoing Lecture Series, the American Studies Programme welcomes internationally renowned scholar Professor John Howard, who is currently Head of American Studies at King's College London. In this lecture, Professor Howard will expand on issues raised in his latest monograph Concentration Camps on the Home Front: Japanese Americans in the House of Jim Crow which deals with the unconstitutional internment of Japanese Americans during the Second World War and explores the incarceration of U.S. citizens and residents of Japanese descent in two concentration camps in the segregated South.
