"Barack Obama and the President's Race"

Talk by Professor John Howard King's College London

As part of its ongoing Lecture Series, the American Studies Programme welcomes internationally renowned scholar Professor John Howard, who is currently Head of American Studies at King's College London. Although nominally an Americanist, Professor Howard's expertise extends to a variety of fields, including globalization and world culture and politics. He has taught in various parts of the world, including Japan where he was a Fulbright lecturer. He is the author of Concentration Camps on the Home Front: Japanese Americans in the House of Jim Crow (2008) and Men Like That: A Southern Queer History (1999), both from University of Chicago Press.
