entitled

Date: September 8, 2008 (Monday)
Time: 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Venue: M122, Main Building HKU

Abstract:
Professor Dippel will start his talk with a discussion of two recent publications, Steven Pincus' England's Glorious Revolution 1688-1689. A Brief History with Documents, and Elizabeth Wicks' The Evolution of a Constitution. Eight Key Moments in British Constitutional History, leading to an in depth examination of the Glorious Revolution both as the founding moment of modern Britain and of modern constitutionalism generally.

In 2002, he started to edit the constitutions of the world since 1776, which, so far, covers Europe and the Americas. He is currently working on a major study of American constitutionalism, including national and state constitutions, covering the period up to the Civil War.
