From Kowloon City to the World

Venue: New Asia Middle School

Date: 4 Nov - 2 Dec 2006

From November to December 2006, the School of Modern Languages and Cultures of the University of Hong Kong and the New Asia Middle School will join hands to organise a project called "From Kowloon City to the World". We sincerely invite your students, their parents, and your teachers to join us.

Language has always been the distinctive feature of communication in human society as well as an indispensable element in the process of cultural development. By studying various languages, we can know more about the development of individual cultures. By comparing different languages, we can also learn about differences in customs, values, and ways of life in different countries. It is important for students to learn more about the world, cultures of different countries and knowledge outside the classroom. Therefore, we are going to hold the following series of events for the students from Hong Kong:

1. Saturday Morning Talks on foreign languages and cultures
2. Exhibition on foreign languages and cultures
3. World Cultural Carnival

Registration Method:

Please download the registration form at http://www.hku.hk/smlc/theworld/ and email the completed form to theworld@hku.hk or by fax (2548 0487) or mail (Room 706, KK Leung Building, The University of Hong Kong, Pokfulam Road) (Please specify "From Kowloon City to the World")
