ALEXANDRE YERSIN (1863-1943) was a French Doctor and Biologist. In 1894, in demand of the French Government and Institut Pasteur, he was sent to Hong Kong to study the nature of the epidemic of pest and isolated the Bacillus responsible for the disease.
